Morgentaler and the Order of Canada

Some "controversial" news in Canada right now, Governor-General Michaƫlle Jean has named Dr. Henry Morgentaler for an Order of Canada. This has sent the pro-life community into a PANIC! I just saw on the news that there is a big pro-life protest going down in Canada (nothing was mention if the pro-choice movement was there as a counter-protest). They are holding sign that say "Abortion Hurts Women" on them and ranting to anyone who will listen (obviously news stations), though I have to wonder... Do these people not have jobs? Maybe that is why there is no pro-choice representation since they actually do have commitments. I mean I would be there counter-protesting, but I am just too lazy!!! Hahaha, just kidding, I actually have class so at the moment I do not have the time.

I actually agree with Jean for this one, Morgentaler has helped the progress of women's rights in Canada by getting the Abortion law elevated and thus women having [some] control over their own bodies.

Sadly this has opened the Abortion Debate again in Canada, so it is unclear on where we are headed in the future. The Conservatives and Pro-Life Groups have their panties in a bunch... getting all hot and bothered with the idea of some "butcher" getting such a prestigious recognition.

Here is an interesting article from the CBC
Check it out and formulate your own opinions!

I am pro-Abortion and I always will be.
